Telangana Flood 2020
On Tuesday Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal announced that they will donate Rs 15 Crore to Telangana. The flood has affected Telangana and over 60 people have lost their life. Arvind Kejriwal said that the Delhi government is with Telangana and they will support residents of Telangana.
Delhi CM tweeted that ” The floods have Wreaked havoc in Hyderabad”. The people of Delhi are with Telangana and will support them in every possible way. The Delhi Govt. will provide Rs 15 Crore relief fund to Telangana.
The Hyderabad received so much rainfall since 1908 that forced govt. to relocate more than 37000 people who were living in low-lying areas to relief camps. The Telangana govt. has estimated that more than 5000 scores has been damaged due to these floods.
Kejriwal has announced the 15 crore donation a day after Tamil Naidu donated Rs 10 crore to Telangana floods relief funds. They will also send Blanket and mats which will help the flood victims.
The Telangana Chief Minister thanked Arvind Kejriwal on the behalf of Telangana Residents.
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao also announced Rs 10,000 to flood-affected households, Rs 1 lakh for totally damaged houses and Rs 50,000 for partially damaged houses. He instructed Collectors of Hyderabad, Rangareddy and Medchal districts to send teams on the field so that the money can be distributed among the flood-affected people.
Rao also announced that the govt. will release Rs 550 score immediately for helping the flood affected and poor peoples. He also asked minister to help the people in every possible way.
According to Rama Rao, at least 70 people have lost their life due to this. Out of these 70, 33 were from Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and 37 people from the district have lost their life due to this.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an “orange” alert for Tuesday and Wednesday. In these days, the Telangana and Hyderabad can receive heavy rainfall and the risk level in this Orange alert is categorized as “Medium“.
Due to this situation in Telangana, the education minister Sabitha Indra Reddy announced that the examinations have been postponed till Dasara festival which will be celebrated on Sunday, Oct 25, 2020. The BR Ambedkar University informed that they will announce the new date of exams which were scheduled to be on October 21,22 and 23.
West Bengal Govt. also announced help of Rs 2 Crores to Telangana. Several Tollywood stars like Nagarjuna, Mahesh Babu, Jr NTR, and others also donated funds to the Telangana Relief Funds.
